Kindergarten

Mrs. Gloria Engelbrecht
Hello and welcome to Resurrection Kindergarten. We offer 5 full days of learning activities with the option of two half days on Tuesday and Thursday. We strive to meet your child’s needs on many different levels. We offer varied activities throughout the day that enrich your child’s spiritual, social, emotional, physical and intellectual self. Daily we hear Bible stories and begin the process of reading and writing, running and jumping, singing and speaking. Opportunities are also provided for getting together as families for story times, winter fests, Christmas services, and other fun activities. It’s an exciting time and one of great change as developmentally the five year old grows and matures during the year into a six year old. Come join us!

Greetings and welcome to the first, second, and third grade classroom at Resurrection Lutheran School! I have been teaching at Resurrection for 13 years. I grew up in Fountain City, Wisconsin, and attended grade school at St. Matthew’s Lutheran School in Winona, Minnesota. I attended high school at Luther Preparatory School in Watertown, Wisconsin, and graduated in 1998. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota, and have been teaching at Resurrection since my graduation in 2002. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling with my sisters, especially to warm climates. I also follow Wisconsin and Chicago sports teams. I love teaching and am blessed to share Christ daily with the students in my classroom!

Mr. Scott Wagner
Welcome to grades four, five, and six! What happens in room four? Bible Story Lessons and Catechism instruction, Saxon Math and Shurley English, Wordly Wise Spelling and Vocabulary, Novels and Read aloud and Writing Workshop, Geography, Illinois History, US History, Earth Science, Physical and Chemical Science, and Life Science, Music and Art and Physical Education, and maybe even a little Spanish along the way. But…in all we do, we want to see Jesus as our Savior who gives us the forgiveness of sins and eternal life in heaven with him. Our earthly lives are a chance to get to know Jesus, and to share his love with as many people as we can.

Mr. Brad Essig
Welcome to 7th – 8th grade! I am very excited for another year to teach these young adults about the gift of their Savior and what He has done for them! 7th – 8th grade is packed with lots of fun, but challenges as well. The students study and take to heart the truths of God’s Word, learn basic algebra, take notes on important information, draft and organize papers, learn the key events in U.S. History, study the systems and functions of their bodies, and much more! The students in 7th – 8th grade are challenged with the task of working more independently and see the results in their education of hard work and effort. I am excited to work with these bright, young adult minds and witness the many gifts and abilities the Lord has blessed them with.
