Forensics

Our 4th – 8th grade students are required to participate in forensics at Resurrection. This is a great opportunity for our students to work on their public speaking skills. Students practice during the school day with teachers and volunteers. Each student performs his/her piece at our forensics night in October. Students also have the opportunity in October, if they so choose, to go to Illinois Lutheran High School in Crete, IL to participate in the C.A.L.L. (Chicago Area Lutheran League) forensics meet. Here they have the opportunity to participate against our area Lutheran grades schools as individuals and as a team.

SpBAM

Our 4th – 8th grade students have the opportunity to participate in the C.A.L.L. (Chicago Area Lutheran League) SpBAM (Spelling, Bible, Art & Math) competition in April of each school year. Mr. Essig and Mr. Wagner select students to participate in the individual and team events. Students who compete in the math competition take individual tests and also participate in the team competition. There are a wide variety of art categories to choose from and students are allowed to submit two projects they create during the school year.
