Resurrection Lutheran School provides its students with a variety of athletic opportunities to participate in. We offer 4 different sports for students at Resurrection: soccer, softball, basketball, and track. We are part of the Chicago Area Lutheran League and play WELS schools from Morton Grove, Downer’s Grove, and Crystal Lake. In certain sports, we also play teams from around the Aurora area. Students in 4th -8th grade have an opportunity to participate in these extra curricular programs.
SOFTBALL
All boys and girls in 4th – 8th grade have the opportunity to play slow pitch softball. This softball season takes place during the beginning of the school year and ends in the middle of September. Practices are conducted during recess and P.E. classes. The season consists of a couple of games and ends with the C.A.L.L. Softball Tournament that is located at Lippold Park in Crystal Lake, IL in early September.
soccer
All boys and girls in 4th – 8th grade have the opportunity to play soccer. The season consists of games being played during the months of August, September and October against teams from the C.A.L.L. and also against teams from around the Aurora area. Practices and games will be held after school on various days of the week. To end the season, a league tournament is held at Resurrection during the month of October.
BASKETBALL
Boys
All boys in 4th – 8th grade have the opportunity to participate in basketball. The regular season games are held throughout the week in the months of December, January, and February. The season consists of games being played against teams from around the Aurora area.Girls
All girls in 4th – 8th grade have the opportunity to participate in basketball. The regular season games are held throughout the week in the months of December, January, and February. The season consists of games being played against teams from around the Aurora area.Co-Ed
After the regular basketball season, there is coed basketball season. All boys and girls in 6th-8th have the opportunity to participate. This season runs from February and into early March against teams from the C.A.L.L. The season ends with a tournament held at Luther Preparatory School in Watertown, Wisconsin.TRACK
All boys and girls in 4th – 8th grade have the opportunity to participate in track. Students will begin to practice towards the end of March and into May during P.E. and recess time. The season concludes with one meet that is hosted by the Chicago Area Lutheran League. This meet will take place in May and is located at Timothy Christian Schools in Elmhurst.
